It's not rain but sounds like rain - fog and damp settling in the trees as a breeze blows. Recorded in the fields above my home in the fog and damp - so sounds amplified and 'hollow'. Recorded using a sennheiser mke300 'shotgun' mic. Cropped in audacity; and saved as aif file. Rustling leaves can also be made out. Feel free to hash it, mash it and trash it. Use it as you wish. I have changed the speed ant cut it. Then, i have recorded the noise made with my hand hitting the bottleneck. I have used the effect “blend in closing” and changed the height. Sound made by a small electric motor cranking and reversing a lever (on an infant's glider/sleeper). This is one repeat of the sound taken from a larger sound i've provided in this archive (which has repeated takes). If you pitch-shift this down about six steps and add a metal/plate/hall reverberation effect, it sounds remarkably like a sound you hear in the carbonite chamber scene in the empire strikes back :). This was recorded with a sony icd-st voice recorder held next to the glider, then noise removed with an audio tool, then normalized. I request but don't demand credit to me (richard alexander hall) for any use of this sound.

A big carton board was held by two people, and then shaken to produce the deep rumbling sound. Various ways of shaking and holding it, resulted in a very close thunder sound. A zoom h6 recorder, with the xy capsule was used to record it, inside of a classroom.

On this lo-fi recording, corn grains are sitting in a frying pan and begin to pop as the oil is hissing. It provides an interesting and regular popping sound suitable for mid-range frequencies. The recording is done with a tie-microphone, and extra treatment is done on audacity to reduce noise and isolate the sound.
